Yet another dedicated to my eternal muse...

...who incidentally just tonight brought over Utena: The movie. Okay, I'm not going to spoil anything here, but that movie made NO FREAKIN' SENSE. I was watching it going, okay, so these people were just sitting around thinking "What kind of images do I want in this movie?" and then drew some sketches and tossed it all to some poor unsuspecting writer and said "here, write a script with this."

And apparently, after watching the special features, I wasn't too far off with that idea...

Luckily, though, pictures are enough to make me happy. Utena's so cute w/short hair :)

Wah, I wish I'd spent more time practicing calligraphy and not goofing off and drawing little cartoon characters with the bamboo brush...

PSCS, 2.5 hrs (wow, that was pretty quick *_*)

PLEASE DON'T SAY "THANK YOU", IT'S IMPLIED.... and everytime you say 'thank you' I'm forced to kill a kitten! Do you wanna be the one responsible for making me kill a kitten?!
Well... in its defense... it's pretty to look at :).

Shexy fanart, but thanks for your description of the movie *knows what not to buy*
Oh yea did I mention I love the lineart and the coloring of the hair XD
The movie's equivalent? Beautiful, diamond-studded crack on a pink crushed-velvet background. I love it because it's just not SUPPOSED to make sense. Watch the series. Its weird, but NOT as weird as the movie. The movie was like they took the series, looked at it, and then some guy came running in with a shot gun and demanded to direct. He wanted lesbians and cars and tortured bishounen and that was IT. NOTHING ELSE.

In any case? Hawt. I love all the tiny shading details you put in. The soft gradation, the way you always get white clothe to fold and stretch and wrinkle so very carefully with the way you color it, the way it always looks like acryllics or water colors. And that graceful and utterly sensual pose?

What are you talking about, it made SO much sense! The only one that makes more sense is the X movie! They were like, let's go! and, Whee! and... I forgot to tell you! ...and, oh no he's dead! and then it was the end! What doesn't make sense about that?

I like her hair. And ummm her chest area. >>;'

OKAY enough of being a comment whore.

I've seen [most of] the series and I actually did like the allusions to the series. I'm glad they retained the same style, just tacked a bigger budget onto it... but seriously, what the hell were they smoking and can they share please.

No, I had slight disagreement with how Utena wasn't as cool as she was in the series :( The haircut was cool. The Touga-chasing... I dunno. Utena doesn't chase after boys!!!

Exactly, which I dig, of course. I loved the WHOLE series and even the movie, despite the mind-rapeage.

I think she was badass in either one! Kick ass fighting, androgyny, blushy occasional inherent girlness and... turning into a car. Or something. And Utena's supposed to be after boys.... everyone in that damn school is flamingly bisexual, whether they like it or not. Just more after girls in a subliminal sort of way. ^^V
